Jonathan Bydlak, President
Jonathan is the former Director of Fundraising for Ron Paul’s 2008 Presidential campaign, where he managed a fundraising operation that raised over $35 million, chiefly online via the application of social media. After serving on a variety of campaigns and causes, Jonathan founded the Institute to Reduce Spending in 2012. He began his career in the financial services industry as a hedge fund investment analyst. Originally from Massachusetts, he holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University.
Rebekah Bydlak, Executive Director
A longtime political activist and organizer, Rebekah earned her master’s degree in political science and public administration from the University of West Florida before beginning full-time work for the Institute. She manages organizational development and strategy, as well as serving as spokesperson for the Institute, overseeing programs, and managing daily written communications.
Jonathan Wren, Special Projects Director
Jonathan earned his BA in economics with a minor in history from James Madison University in 2015. He hopes to apply a small-government philosophy to the political realm during his time with the Institute to Reduce Spending, where he assists with original research projects and writes about and researches current events for the Institute. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on the English soccer team West Ham United and attending Baltimore Ravens games.
Jake Grant, Outreach Director
Jake joins the Institute from San Diego State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He has been involved with various political organizations over the years and is an energetic advocate for spending reform. Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing and following whatever sport is in season.
Eric Kohn, Director
Eric Kohn is the CEO and Founder of Curious Task Strategies, Inc., a public affairs firm that works with clients ranging from non-profit organizations, businesses, and individuals. Previously, Eric has served as Director of Marketing at the Foundation for Economic Education and as Chairman of the Chicago Chapter of America’s Future Foundation. He also is a member of the board of directors of Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry. Eric is a graduate of Millikin University and lives in Illinois with his wife Becca, daughter Harper, and son Reagan.
Haris Hadzimuratovic, Director
Haris Hadzimuratovic is an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, where he specializes in commercial litigation, white collar crime, and government investigations. Haris currently resides in Chicago, IL. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University.
Ryan Shafik, Director
Ryan Shafik serves as the Principal of Rockwood Strategies, a Pennsylvania-based political consulting firm that works with political and non-profit clients nationwide. He has over 15 years of experience in campaigns ranging from Judge and County Commissioner to State House, State Senate, and Congress. In addition to campaign work, Ryan also works with many political organizations on issue advocacy in order to effect change in the political landscape. A native of Baltimore, MD and a graduate of Villanova University, Ryan currently resides in Pennsylvania.
